Job Title: VAT Manager - Birmingham	Salary: 45000 / Yearly
Location: Birmingham	Type: Full-Time

Description:

VAT Manager required for a Top 10 practice in Birmingham. Your key responsibilities will be to

Undertake complex advisory work. This will include advising clients in the property and financial services sectors therefore significant experience in these areas would be advantageous.
Maintain technical knowledge through courses/training.
Acquire some knowledge of other taxes eg CT, SDLT etc, as required.
Assist with development of VAT marketing and recognise practice development opportunities.
Use computer as integral part of job.
Maintain good contact with clients.
Participate in appraisal of assistants/admin staff.
Carry out "health checks", as required.
Show initiative.
Prepare and present courses and seminars, internally and externally.
Keep the relevant partners/directors fully informed of progress of work on the client.
Carry out duties in accordance with the office procedures and tax manual.

To be considered for this post you will have:

Experience of working in a professional practice as a VAT specialist
Experience of advising clients on property related transactions
High standard of written and verbal communication
Excellent interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of financial services, international services would be beneficial along with experience of devising partial exemption and business /non-business methods, sound knowledge of intra EU transactions, Experience of carrying out VAT reviews, past involvement in marketing VAT services
