With nearly $4 billion of capital under management, Sterling invests from $5 million to over $100 million of equity in each company with which it partners. Sterling’s funds are divided among two investment groups: Sterling Capital Partners, which invests in small and middle-market buyout transactions, and Sterling Venture Partners, which provides growth capital for expansion stage companies in which it assumes a non-controlling interest.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Portfolio Company Assessment Team visits each portfolio company and reviews the accounting environment, financial performance, financial reporting and operational aspects. The team operates under guidance from the Company’s CFO, works collaboratively with deal team and other operating professionals to report findings/observations directly to the most senior ranking Sterling executives.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have four to eight years of progressive financial advisory service, professional accounting and/or consulting experience. He/She must be able to operate in a collaborative manner and be accustomed to collegial, team-orientated environments. The individual must be an independent thinker and self-starter with the ability to multitask and work on several projects at a given time. It is important that the individual have superior interpersonal skills with an ability to work with people at multiple levels both inside and outside of the organization. Strong verbal/written communication skills and Excel/Word/PowerPoint/other general computer skills are required.
In addition to the general characteristics described in the preceding paragraph, experience in the following areas is highly preferred: Internal Audit Sarbanes-Oxley Forensic Accounting Dispute Resolution

EDUCATION
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance and CPA required
