Description:Business Recovery Director required for a top ten practice in London & South East Region.To be considered for this post you will be a qualified accountant (ideally with JIEB) with over 6 years' insolvency experience, including management experience Working as member of a team responsible for undertaking work arising from insolvency appointments. You will continue to develop your insolvency skills and knowledge through on the job experience and technical training. You will plan, monitor and review all work prepared by junior team members in the group and / or to assist in the generation and exploitation of marketing opportunities. You will be required to - Effectively manage projects, balancing quality control, budget, the timetable and client expectations - Co-ordinate and prioritise a portfolio of projects to meet deadlines - Ensure adequate resources available for each case and to achieve budgets - Liaise with Assistant Manager and / or Manager in planning and delegation of work - Ensure that all correspondence is dealt with promptly - Review and sign off all correspondence - Ensure that all reports and material submitted to partner for approval is accurate - Ensure compliance with regulations, SIPs and internal procedures - Produce realistic budgets for agreement with partner and client - Monitor project costs to identify variances - Manage billing, work in progress and cash collection to minimise lock-up - Maximise recovery by regular and frequent billing and cash collection - Ensure client relationships are properly documented - Give or seek briefing prior to commencement of an assignment - Originating and exploiting marketing opportunities - Develop expertise in a specific area of insolvency or industry and pro-actively pass this knowledge onto colleagues - Other duties and responsibilities as delegated Line Management - Monitor junior staff and ensure that adequate on the job training and coaching is provided - Identify and involve appropriately skilled staff in pursuing new business opportunities - Provide a variety and challenging amount of work for less experienced staff to aid in retention and career development - Responsible for monitoring staff performance - Responsible for building and maintaining team morale - Conduct appraisals twice a year for all staff within team which are open, honest, constructive with agreed outcomes - Play an active role in the creation and implementation of development plans for all team members REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION Excellent Communication Skills: - Act and communicate in a professional, friendly and efficient manner with clients and prospects - Use appropriate style and grammar in business communication - Advanced inter-personal and social skills Excellent Project Management Skills: - Excellent organisational skills - Able to prioritise tasks according to importance and urgency - Exceptional ability to be able to manage and meet internal fee and cash budgets Strong Proactive Approach to Work: - High standard of work, attitude, appearance and time keeping - Demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge and application of internal procedures and the relevant professional, legal and regulatory requirements or guidelines - Demonstrate desire to learn, increase knowledge, take on new responsibilities and develop new skills - Able to take charge in any given situation and make the appropriate decisions Excellent People Management Skills: - Ability to set an example for junior staff with regards to productivity, performance, behaviour and values - Superior ability to delegate and motivate staff - Able to promote team retention by discussing aspirations, staff needs and communicate outcomes - Able to guide and coach more junior staff members to achieve their full potential, including career development opportunities Excellent Client Liaison Skills: - Demonstrate excellent networking skills - Able to build and maintain clients relationships at all levels to better understand the clients business and aid retention - Able to develop, maintain and utilise a network of senior contacts to maximise opportunities for the firm - Able to understand and persuasively sell the Firms capabilities to clients Excellent Business Development Skills: Excellent marketing skills Excellent presentational skills Excellent Technical Knowledge - Able to develop and maintain an in-depth technical knowledge - Demonstrate a clear understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements - ACA/ACCA qualification and (ideally) JIEB - Experience in all types of insolvency cases - Understand the general principles of business turnaround and corporate finance - Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes - Extensive knowledge and understanding of IPS / FMS / RMS and any other relevant computer packages specific to business stream.
